When I was a young mom with 3 small children I taught indoor cycling and did lots of weightlifting. I started adding vinyasa yoga in as a compliment to the other modalities, but I began to experience extreme shoulder pain. I tried getting cortisone injections but they only provided temporary relief. A friend suggested I look into Original Hot Yoga. I HATED my first class, but I went back again and again and within a month the shoulder pain went away and I was hooked. I was even able to incorporate my vinyasa practice back into my exercise regimen. But I noticed something else about having a regular yoga practice: I learned that I could do hard things. The lessons I was learning in the yoga room were becoming lessons I could apply everyday in my life. And that’s what keeps me coming back to the hot room. I’m certified in Baptiste Power Yoga, Inferno Hot Pilates, Hot Power Fusion and am now finishing up my OHY certification. I’ve taught yoga for 20 years and owned a studio in Pennsylvania for 6 before moving to Bend in 2019. I love showing up to teach everyday and watching the students transform in front of my eyes. When I’m not teaching yoga I’m hiking with my dogs all over Central Oregon.
